June 10 2009 -The new governor of Carinthia, Gerhard Doerfler, Haider`s successor, visited for the first time Gorizia, which has a solid working relationship and friendship with Carinthia and Klagenfurt. Accompanied by his spokesman Markus Staindel, the director of the Bureau of Carinthian Land Petra Oberrauner and by his assistant Nicole Beclin, Doerfler met the mayor of Gorizia Ettore Romoli in the City hall, with whom he then visited the city castle and the its museums. In the afternoon the group went to the Chamber of Commerce, where Doerfler met the representatives of industrialists, merchants and craftsmen from Gorizia and to the auto port in Sant’Andrea where he was expected by the President of SDAG Giorgio Milocco and by the representatives of Nuova Gorizia and San Pitero- Vertoiba Slovenian municipalities. Before returning to Klagenfurt, Doerfler was guest of Roberto Felluga in its well known estate in the Collio Doc, Russiz Superiore, where together with the mayor Romoli he could toast to the renewed friendship with the prestigious Marco Felluga and Russiz Superiore wines.
