The famous Italian-american journalist Carla Capalbo has recently reviewed the Collio Bianco Col Disôre 2004 Russiz Superiore in the special Decanter issue, “Italy 2007, a Decanter guide to Italian wine”. This wine has entered the “Capalbo’s Top Gorizia Friulis” with 5 stars, “Delicate floral nose with notes of pear and exotic fruits, full bodied with elegant long finish. Up to 5 years.”
Carla Capalbo was born in New York, grew up between Paris and London and is now living in Italy from about 16 years. She writes for several magazines beside Dacanter and has also wrote many wonderful food & wine books, like her last one “The food and wine guide to Naples and Campania” or the previous “The food lover’s companion to Tuscany”. She knows and loves Italy very much. Each time she writes about an Italian region she goes to live there for months in order to immerse herself into the realm of the food & wine craftsmen and of the cooks who make their creations in the kitchens. So it was for the region Friuli Venezia Giulia, where Carla Capalbo spent the last summer, lodging for a week also in Russiz Superiore, guest of the family Marco Felluga.
